JTT - Jewelry Storage Ideas

Image
Hey there!! Welcome to the newest feature on the Fae Imagination blog: Jewelry Tip Tuesday! This week, I am going to be giving you some different storage ideas for your jewelry! If you are anything like me, I know you have WAY more jewelry than you have storage for! So let's hop right to it! Tip #1: Keep them visible! I know from personal experience that if I put my jewelry in a box, on my dresser, I never see it and therefore, I never wear it! And if you never wear it, then what is the point in buying it, right?!?! So get them visible! (This is a project that I will be working on in the next few weeks, so I don't have my own pictures to share yet, but I will share them in my Friday Lifestyle segments once I get them done!) So here is what I  am planning to do to get my necklaces visible: I'm going to invest in a couple corkboard and some thumbtacks! How cute is this idea? You can even personalize it any way that you want to! Staple fabric over the board to change th...

Domestic Abuse, PTSD and How I Can Help

Image
If you haven't read the previous parts of my story, you can read them here and here . Forewarning: The second link is a very emotional article and may contain triggers. This is going to be a very long and volatile article as well. Please do NOT continue if you are easily triggered. My life didn't seem that hard to me until I actually looked back on it. I felt like I had a decent childhood, even if my parents did get divorced and I did live in the middle of nowhere. But I got to have horses and I spent 10 years in 4-H with my horses and my dogs with my mom and my grandparents. They supported me 150% through those 10 years. But then when I stop to look at individual experiences, I realize that I lived through hell. And I struggle admitting that, because I was always of the mindset that “Someone else has it worse.” But something that I have learned over the years is that while, yes, there will always be someone who has it worse than you, that does not invalidate your feelings/...

Drugs, Self-Care and What's Coming Next

Image
Read the first part of my story here . I am very passionate about my business. I am also very passionate about self-care. My business is a major source of self-care for me. Yes, I work 14 - 16 hours a day. Yes, I work 6 days a week. Yes, I get stressed out and upset and burnt out. But the flip side of that, the positive side, is that I get to express my creativity in the items I make. I get to relax and unwind while I am making the items. I get to exercise my brain by learning all the new business techniques and tips and tricks. I get to meet new people and connect with them on a level that most wouldn't. I get to help them learn to express themselves creatively. To learn to find out who they really are. To be comfortable in their own bodies and minds. To help them boost their confidence and self-esteem. Now, why is all of this important to me? Because at one point, 4 years ago, I wasn't worried about anyone but myself. I had such low self-esteem and confidence that I ...

The Formation of The Fae Imagination

Image
A few years ago, I had a completely different life. I had completely different priorities and goals in life. Heck, I was a completely different person. I had 2 kids, I worked in a bar 4 nights a week, and I wanted to build a farm. I still want to build a farm, but it's way on the back burner right now. The only goal that I had was to make enough money those 4 nights to be able to take care of my kids and me. And then I had a friend see one of the blankets I made in my "spare" time. They liked it so much, they asked me to make them one. And I needed the extra money, so I said I would. Somewhere around this time (2014-ish) I got pregnant with my 3rd child and my whole life shifted. I needed some way to make money that wasn't in a bar and didn't involve me being gone overnight. Also, that didn't require me to survive on an hour of sleep a night. I knew I would be getting little enough sleep once the baby was born. I met a very talented lady who's jewelry ...

Earthing: Why You Should Be Doing It

Image
🌱 EARTHING 🌱 Earthing is the process of getting in tune with the Earth's energy. It's done by our skin being in direct contact with the Earth, most easily accomplished by being barefoot. It helps to relieve stress, balance our bodies, increase immunity and also to boost our moods and our own energies. But how does it do all of that?!? When we go barefoot outside, we interact with the Earth's electric field. In school, we all learned about electrons and neurons and all that. But if you're like me, I know you've forgotten it. LOL Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, like dominoes. When you step out barefoot, you are in direct contact with these free radicals in the Earth's surface. They seek out other free radicals in your body to pair with. So they transfer super easy from the E...
