The Formation of The Fae Imagination

A few years ago, I had a completely different life. I had completely different priorities and goals in life. Heck, I was a completely different person. I had 2 kids, I worked in a bar 4 nights a week, and I wanted to build a farm. I still want to build a farm, but it's way on the back burner right now. The only goal that I had was to make enough money those 4 nights to be able to take care of my kids and me. And then I had a friend see one of the blankets I made in my "spare" time. They liked it so much, they asked me to make them one. And I needed the extra money, so I said I would.

Somewhere around this time (2014-ish) I got pregnant with my 3rd child and my whole life shifted. I needed some way to make money that wasn't in a bar and didn't involve me being gone overnight. Also, that didn't require me to survive on an hour of sleep a night. I knew I would be getting little enough sleep once the baby was born. I met a very talented lady who's jewelry and chainmaille items I fell in love with. Her name is Alexandria McQueen and she runs Phoenix Fine Design (go check her out, because her work is STILL amazing!!!). Lexy invited me to check out Spotlight Market Night run by Sugs De Leon of Sugar Coated Chaos. From there, I met so many amazing artists!!!

I decided to try my hand at painting things. Not actual paintings, but just things like plaster figures and wooden boxes. But I felt like a fraud. So I went to the Dojo Momma (Sugs) and we had a talk. She told me to just go for it. To follow my heart. So I brought back my business from when my oldest daughter was a baby, Bedtime By Tink. I focused at first on my handmade blankets and pillows. Then I started selling the painted items I was making. Eventually, I met Jodie Stretch, who was the artist behind Stretch of the Imagination. Jodie eventually paired with another artist and they created Imagination Cauldron. Jodie and I became friends, even though we made similar things, and we decided that we didn't want to compete against each other.

So in January 2016, Jodie and I joined together to create The Fae Imagination. We pulled the Imagination from her previous businesses and since Tink was a faerie (Tinkerbell from Peter Pan was my favorite character as long as I can remember and my best friend of 16 years called me Tink to honor that) we used Faerie to bring her in as well. Plus, we both love faeries and all things magickal, so it really fit. We offered, as some of you may remember, painted wooden items and eventually we brought in plaster items and even canvases.

Last year, I became pregnant with my 4th child and Jodie took a step back because she just wasn't called to create like she used to be. We took some time to figure out what we both really wanted to do. I am called to business like a siren calls to sailors. She, however, is not. So I took over The Fae Imagination completely and brought in chainmaille as the main seller. In December, I shut down for 2 weeks to have the baby and do a complete rebrand of the company. I wanted to build the company image more true to our Pagan beliefs and to our roots. Not the roots of our company, but to our true roots. And I say our, because my kids are a HUGE part of the company.
